Calibration and Certification

The Standards Laboratory can provide a calibration and certification service for measuring instruments and standards in use by both the Tasmanian industry and community.  This includes the calibration of instruments and standards used for trade, technical, scientific, legal or quality assurance purposes.  Equipment used in sporting contests can also be given certification.

Certification is provided at either subsidiary standard, ie Regulation 13 level, or by way of a calibration report or certificate of verification.  The latter is generally applicable to trade instruments, whilst the alternative calibration/certification is provided, dependant on the required use and the client's requirements.
