Bills of Sale
Searching the Register

The public can conduct a search of the Bills of Sale register to find out if a chattel is encumbered.  The register may be searched under the following criteria:

• name of grantor (borrower);
• serial, vehicle identification number (VIN), and/or registration number; and
• bill of sale identification number.

Alternatively, forms can be obtained from Service Tasmania, or by phoning a Business Affairs Officer on 03 6233 4502, who will post/fax a form to you.
